Clean Slate, from producer Norman Lear, follows Harry (George Wallace), an old-school car wash owner in Alabama who has a lot of soul searching to do when the child he once called “son” returns as proud trans woman Desiree (Laverne Cox). Her homecoming brings together a hilarious cast of friends and neighbors, as Desiree and Harry try to get it right the second time around in this heartfelt comedy.

Tyler Perry’s 'Sistas'

Season eight of Tyler Perry’s Sistas is back with more laughs, mystery, and colorful drama. Executive produced, directed, and written by Tyler Perry, the one-hour drama follows a group of single Black females navigating love in their 30s, self-discovery, careers, and friendships through the ups and downs of living in a modern world of social media and unrealistic relationship goals. Season eight will test all the ladies personally and professionally as they learn how both worlds collide and often bleed over into one another.

The Recruit

The second season of Netflix’s The Recruit finds CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) pulled into a life-threatening espionage situation in South Korea — only to realize that the bigger threat just might be coming from inside the agency.

Actor and executive producer Noah Centineo will be presented with the Distinguished Performance Award. An In Conversation event with Centineo, moderated by Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub, immediately follows the screening.

Public relations specialist Gabi Mosely (series star and producer Shanola Hampton), who was once herself one of those forgotten ones, and her crisis management team make sure there is always someone looking out for the missing. Gabi, however, has a chilling secret: In the midst of grief, she imprisoned her childhood kidnapper, Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar).

Doc

Inspired by a true story and based on the hit eponymous Italian drama series, Doc is a new life-affirming medical drama starring Emmy Award nominee Molly Parker (House of Cards) as hard-charging, brilliant Chief of Internal Medicine Dr. Amy Larsen, who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her memory. Amy wakes up from surgery with no recollection of the patients she’s treated, the colleagues she’s crossed, and the tragedy that caused her to push almost everyone away.

Shōgun

An original adaptation of James Clavell’s bestselling novel, Shōgun is set in 1600 Japan at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Producer Hiroyuki Sanada stars as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, who fights for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him. When a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village, its English pilot comes bearing secrets that could help Toranaga tip the scales of power and devastate the formidable influence of Blackthorne’s own enemies — the Jesuit priests and Portuguese merchants.

Beyond the Gates

Beyond the Gates is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., one of the most affluent African American counties in the United States. Here you’ll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multigenerational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered.

Watson

Watson takes place six months after the death of the titular character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. The show stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though — Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century.
