Prime-time Series Screening: HBO presents ‘Girls’

Created by and starring Lena Dunham, “Girls” is an award-winning comedy following the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their mid-20s living in New York City. In addition to Dunham, who stars as Hannah, the cast includes Allison Williams as Marnie, Jemima Kirke as Jessa, Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna, Alex Karpovsky as Ray, Adam Driver as Adam, Andrew Rannells as Elijah and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Desi. 

The aTVfest panel to follow the screening will celebrate the guys from “Girls.”

"American Crime" is an upcoming anthology-format crime drama that follows a racially charged murder and the subsequent trial. Created by writer John Ridley ("12 Years a Slave") and starring Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton, the series debuts Thursday, March 5.

An upcoming series from writer Michael J. Weithorn ("The King of Queens") and director Jake Kasdan ("New Girl"), "Weird Loners" is a comedy about four single 30-something underdogs who are unexpectedly thrust into one another's lives in a Queens, New York, townhouse. The series stars Becki Newton ("Ugly Betty"), Zachary Knighton ("Happy Endings"), Nate Torrence ("Hello Ladies") and newcomer Meera Rohit Kumbhani.

With a workshop, a lead carpenter and all the tools they'll need, the contestants will be tasked with a new project each episode. A panel of expert judges, along with Ellen in special appearances, will eliminate them one by one until one designer is left standing to take home the cash prize and win "Ellen's Design Challenge."
